SASO is the abbreviation of Saudi Arabian Standards Organization, namely Saudi Arabia Standards Organization. SASO is responsible for the formulation of national standards for all daily necessities and products. The standards also include measurement systems and labels.

     In fact, many of the SASO standards are based on the safety standards of international organizations such as the relevant International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). For the purpose of consumer protection, the SASO standard does not only apply to products imported from abroad but also applies to products produced in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Industry and Commerce and SASO require that all products included in the SASO certification standards have a SASO certificate when entering Saudi Customs. Products that do not have SASO certificates will be rejected by Saudi Port Customs.
