Overview | The CB system is a set of global mutual recognition systems for electronic products established by IECEE (The International Electrotechnical Commission's Electrotechnical Products Qualification Testing and Certification Organization, the English name The IEC System for Conformity Testing and Certification of Electrical Equipment). The system participates in members of the CB system. Countries mutually recognize the test results to obtain national certification or approval, thus promoting international trade. Most of the electronic and electrical products need to meet different regulations and industry requirements when they enter the markets of various countries. In the past, it was a difficult and time-consuming and costly process to obtain product safety registration or safety certification in various countries. But now relying on the CB system, this situation will never happen again. The CB system is a very convenient procedure. Participating countries can mutually recognize each other's test results and usually do not need additional tests. |
Range | At present, the CB system covers electronic game devices, test equipment, power supply cables, capacitors and components, lighting, home appliances, protection devices, transformers, office and IT equipment, and medical equipment. There are 14 categories and 180 products. The CB Labs (CBTL) is a laboratory accepted by the CB system and authorized by a specific National Certification Body (NCB) to perform product testing and issue test reports. Manufacturers can obtain CB reports and certificates from any national certification authority of any country and convert them to other safety certificates through national certification agencies under the country’s CB system. |
